Message from the Program Director
On behalf of the faculty, residents and fellows, welcome to the Albany Medical Center Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency and the Vascular Surgery Fellowship programs.
Albany Medical Center is committed to providing the direction and support for both programs (two-year fellowship and five-year integrated residency) to produce ethical, competent Vascular Surgery specialists.
Our faculty are dedicated to the training of Vascular Surgeons in either paradigm and in a variety of settings. In the course of your training, you will have the opportunity to interact closely with faculty in office and operative settings, as well as in an outpatient angiographic suite performing venous and arterial procedures. In addition, the faculty provide didactic training with conferences involving standard lecture format, book chapter reviews, anatomical dissections, morbidity and mortality conferences, and journal club.
A strength of our program is the broad geography we serve. Albany Medical Center is the major referral center for northeastern New York and western New England. This vast area ensures large clinical volumes and a broad range of Vascular pathology. At the completion of training, you will have experience with most vascular presentations or procedures.
I welcome to you to investigate our program further, and I thank you for your interest in the Vascular Surgery training programs at Albany Medical Center.
Sincerely,
Paul B. Kreienberg, MD
