Giovanna M. Mahar, CRNA, DNAP
Dr. Mahar is the assistant director of the Center for Nurse Anesthesiology and an associate professor at Albany Medical College. She earned her DNAP from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesiology from Albany Medical College, a BS in Nursing from SUNY Buffalo. She is also a graduate of Siena College and Hudson Valley Community College.
She has held many faculty positions and leadership roles at Albany Medical College and also served a a nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Mahar is a member of and active in many organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the New York State Association of Nurse Anesthetists where she has served as President and head of the Covid-19 Task Force, NYSANA of the Capital Region, NEANA, and the New England Assembly of School Faculty where she serves as Secretary.
