The Foundations of Medical Science blocks continue, along with the continued longitudinal clerkships begun in year one.
The second phase of the curriculum - The Core Patient Care phase - begins in April of year two for most students. The core consists of:
Medicine – 8 weeks
Surgery – 8 weeks
Pediatrics – 6 weeks
Obstetrics & Gynecology – 6 weeks
Family Medicine – 4 weeks
Neurology – 4 weeks
Psychiatry – 4 weeks
Scholarly Endeavors – 4 weeks
Radiology – 2 weeks
Vacation – 2 weeks
Flexibility for students wishing to pursue bench research, an additional degree, or other scholarly options are available. Clerkships may be taken in any order.
