Stephanie Solomon Cargill, PHD, MSPH
Dr. Solomon Cargill earned her PhD in Philosophy from Emory University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Research Ethics at University of Michigan and a Master’s of Science in Public Health at Saint Louis University. Prior to joining the Alden March Bioethics Institute faculty, she was Associate Professor in the department of Health Care Ethics at Saint Louis University.
Dr. Solomon Cargill’s research uses both empirical and theoretical methods to explore ways in which stakeholder perspectives can and should shape research practice and policy. She has published on research issues such as vulnerable populations in research, IRB policy, biobanking ethics, community-engaged research ethics, and informed consent. Her work has been published in Ethics & Human Research, JERHRE, Public Health Ethics, Accountability in Research, AJOB, among others. She is currently working on research exploring the reasons why people decline participation in research.
