About the Program
The Graduate Certificate in Research Ethics is designed for individuals interested in research ethics compliance and oversight, including individuals working on institutional review boards and research working with human participants. The goal of the educational program is to provide learners with the tools to identify research ethics issues, apply current research ethics guidelines, and provide research ethics guidance.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate in Research Ethics program, students will be able to:
- Identify ethical issues in research;
- Utilize an established approach/methodology to tackle ethical issues in research;
- Identify and support recommendations for how to resolve ethical issues in research;
- Develop and demonstrate communications skills required to serve in an advisory role to researchers and members of oversight committees; and,
- Develop writing skills required to serve in an advisory role to researchers and members of oversight committees.
