Cassandra Rivais DiNova, JD, MS, joined Garfunkel Wild, P.C. as an Associate Attorney in 2021. She is a member of the firm’s Health Care, Corporate, and Emerging Companies practice groups. DiNova represents various health care providers on regulatory and transactional matters. Her transactional representations have included mergers and acquisitions. She has assisted in forming new entities and business structures, including LLCs, IPAs, and MSOs, and in obtaining related federal and state tax exemptions. Her work includes counseling clients on patient confidentiality and disclosure of protected health information, particularly HIPAA and the federal Part 2 regulations. She also assists health care clients with vendor agreements and clinical policies.

Active in the New York State Bar Association, DiNova is Co-Chair and Executive Committee member of NYSBA’s Health Law Section’s Young Lawyers’ Committee. She is also the author of the “In the Journals” column of the NYSBA Health Law Journal.

She has provided various forms of educational services, ranging from in-house staff trainings, guest lectures at Albany Law School, and taught undergraduate nursing students courses. DiNova is an Adjunct Professor at Albany Law School, teaching mental health law. She also is a member of the Albany Law School Government Law Center’s Aging and Disability Law Committee.
