Abram Brummett, PhD
Clinical Ethics Fellow 2019-20
Dr. Brummett is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He teaches medical humanities and clinical bioethics to medical students, as well as serving on the scholarship and curriculum committees. Dr. Brummett also serves as a clinical ethics consultant for Beaumont Health, Michigan’s largest health care system.
Prior to completing his clinical ethics fellowship at the Alden March Bioethics Institute, he received his PhD in Health Care Ethics from Saint Louis University. Dr. Brummett also has a MA in history from Murray State University, and a MA in philosophy from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is among the first to receive a certification in clinical ethics consultation (HEC-C) from the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities.
