Exceptional Care, Supportive Environment
Our Internal Medicine Residency Program emphasizes exemplary patient care, teamwork, and clinical and academic excellence in a supportive environment.
We believe it is our privilege as faculty to teach and learn alongside our residents as they develop throughout their training, and that it is our responsibility to create an academic environment and clinical experience that supports each resident's individual goals. We prepare our residents to be well-trained, thoughtful, and caring internists. In turn, our residents are dedicated to becoming exceptional internists, supporting each other, and working to continually improve our program.
Our curriculum is designed on adult learning theory and delivered through active engagement and a team-based learning (TBL) format. The clinical experience is robust and includes rotations in our 766-bed tertiary care facility, at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, and in our practices throughout the Capital Region.
Our program includes a simulation curriculum for procedures, rapid responses, and code blues; an ultrasound curriculum; and quality improvement and research curriculums. We also have a Career Mentorship Program to facilitate the building of a strong portfolio of clinical, research, and academic activities that support each resident's career goals.
