Research

Dr. Poitelon is co-leading the Myelin Laboratory with Dr. Sophie Belin. Dr. Poitelon and Dr. Belin have collaborated together since the early stages of their Bachelor degrees. Dr. Poitelon has a broad background in genetics, neuromuscular disorders and specific training in cell biology of myelinating cells. He notably developed in vitro system to study axon-glia interaction and pioneered the concept of mechanobiology in myelinating glial cells. Dr. Belin studies have focused on the mechanisms and pharmacological approaches of human inherited demyelinating neuropathies using humanized mouse models. She also has a complementary training in molecular physiology of neurons.

More information about The Myelin Lab's ongoing research, lab members, and alumni can be found on their independent website.
