A Message from the Program Director
We are proud of our Orthopedic Residency training program at Albany Medical College and we are pleased that you are interested in learning more. Our program is dedicated to the highest quality of training in all subspecialties of orthopedic surgery.
Our dedicated faculty assures that each of our residents receives ample educational opportunities to develop the necessary surgical and patient management skills to be successful orthopedic surgeons. Trainees are exposed to a broad array of clinical experiences as they rotate through several different clinical venues, including our state-of-the-art multidisciplinary Bone and Joint Center. They also have the opportunity to participate in leading-edge clinical research under the tutelage of our faculty and in collaboration with basic science faculty at Albany Medical College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Union College. Graduates of our program routinely secure competitive fellowship or highly desirable practice positions.
This year, our current chief resident class has secured fellowship positions at the following institutions:
- Dr. Abdul Arain: Spine at New York University
- Dr. Keegan Cole: Hand/Upper Extremity at Philadelphia Hand Center
- Dr. Stefanos Haddad: Hand/Upper Extremity at Rothman Institute
- Dr. Ian Hutchinson: Sports at Hospital for Special Surgery
- Dr. Jillian Kazley: Trauma at Carolinas Medical Center
We look forward to meeting with you and discussing our program in greater detail.
