Nutrition
The nutrition experts at Albany Medical Center work with patients to identify nutritional and lifestyle goals to last a lifetime. Our program is designed to meet the specific needs and goals of each patient and includes services to:
- Improve health
- Maintain weight
- Manage food allergies
- Manage health conditions, such as diabetes or digestive disorders
We also provide medical assessment and management for patients struggling with a variety of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder. This includes inpatient medical stabilization as well as outpatient treatment.
Much of our service is also focused on helping bariatric surgery patients in our comprehensive bariatric surgery program in the pre-operative weight loss phase, peri-operative management phase and long-term follow-up to ensure appropriate diet and adequate nutritional supplementation.
