A Guide for Patients and Families

Dedicated to Your Care

Dedicated to Your CareWelcome to Albany Medical Center. As the region’s only academic health sciences center, Albany Medical Center combines the health care services of a major hospital; the strengths and resources of a prominent medical college; and the skills of its multi-specialty physicians to deliver exceptional patient care—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Rest assured during your stay that your well-being is our highest priority, and everyone involved in your care will work as a team to make sure that you receive the attention, support and compassion that you deserve. Throughout your stay you will encounter many people—from highly trained physicians and nurses to those who keep our hospital and your room clean; from our social workers and pastoral care associates to our security officers and considerate volunteers, from our residents in training to our respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, phlebotomists and countless others doing equally important work. It is the sum of each individual effort to complete a shift, perform a procedure, conduct a diagnostic test, or fulfill a necessary task that allows us to deliver on our promise and provide you with the most advanced and compassionate care possible.

We hope the information presented in the links, available in the adjoining navigation column, answer some of the questions you may have regarding your stay with us. If you need additional assistance, we encourage you to talk to your nurse or physician, or call our Patient Relations Department at 518-262-3499. And please don’t hesitate to ask questions or express concerns. Your input and feedback play an important role in the service we provide and our commitment to continuous quality improvement.
