Kiwanis "Bells of Life" Campaign to Benefit the Children's Hospital
ALBANY, N.Y., November 3, 2006--The pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center will be the beneficiary of the 10th annual "Bells of Life" campaign sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs of Northeastern New York. Paper bells are being sold for $1 at all Kem Cleaners, Millers Markets and Citizen's Bank locations, as well as hundreds of independent businesses located throughout the Capital District. Media sponsors include Time Warner/Capital News 9 and Albany Broadcasting. After Thanksgiving, volunteers from Kiwanis, Key Club, Circle K and Builders' Clubs will sell the bells at Crossgates Mall through December 24. The Children's Hospital at Albany Med is a 125-bed facility devoted exclusively to the medical needs of infants, children and adolescents. It is the referral center for all seriously ill or injured children from 25 counties in upstate New York and western New England.
