Dr. Dhanani Joins Department of Pediatrics
ALBANY, N.Y., August 27, 2008—Salimah Dhanani, M.D., has recently joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics and has been named assistant professor of pediatrics at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Dhanani received her bachelor of medicine—which is the equivalent of a medical degree—from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her internship and residency training in pediatrics at West Virginia University Hospitals, in Morgantown, WV, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Dhanani most recently served as a pediatrician at the Peninsula Community Health Services in Bremerton, WA.
Her research interests include pediatric gastroenterology and nutritional practices for children ages 1-5. In addition, Dr. Dhanani has a special interest in treating patients with gastro-esophageal reflux disease and asthma. Dr. Dhanani is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
