Our staff is selected according to their nurturing abilities, as well as their educational background and experience. We carefully check the references of all staff members, including an investigation with the New York State Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
Each classroom has a lead teacher and an assistant teacher. Our lead teachers are required to have an associate's degree in early childhood education or related field along with actual classroom experience. All staff members who provide direct care must possess formal training in child development or a related field. They work as a team with other staff members to help ensure a child's safety and growth. Workshops, conferences, and in-service training keep the staff up-to-date on new developments in early childhood education.
Many of our staff are certified in first aid and CPR. We consult with a Medical Center pediatrician regarding health matters that could affect parents and children using our facilities.
