Each year we have 5 categorical and 4 non- designated preliminary spots in our Program. In order to be considered you must meet the following criteria:

Medical student applicants to our training program must use ERAS to submit information to be considered for placement.

In general only US citizens or permanent residents will be considered.

Applicants must have graduated from an LCME approved medical school within three years of the date of application.

International Medical Graduates must be currently enrolled in an ACGME accredited residency program in Surgery to be eligible for consideration.

We currently do not accept graduates from Osteopathic Medical Schools.

All applicants must have passed both Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE. (It is required that PGY1 level residents pass Step 3 before being promoted to the PGY2 level of training). 

Applications must be complete by November 1st of the application year. We have 4 interview dates  held late November through mid January.

The application deadline for this program is November 1st. 
All applications to this program are to be submitted through ERAS.  To apply for this program through ERAS you will be required to submit the following materials:

  • Photograph (preferred but not required)
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • USMLE Steps I and II
  • Medical School Transcript and Diploma/Certificate
  • Dean's Letter
  • 3 Current Letters of Recommendation
  • ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
