Message from the Director:

Thank you for visiting our site and for your interest in our program. Our goal is to produce competent and confident board certified anesthesiologists in an atmosphere of enquiry, support, and mutual respect. 

We admit 6 residents per year to our 4 year categorical program (which includes the Clinical Base Year). Our department of Attending Anesthesiologists, Residents and CRNAs, perform about 21,000 anesthetics per year. As a tertiary referral center, we see a variety of interesting and very ill cases. Our graduates’ required case numbers are at about the 70th percentile nationally, and we work hard to ensure that we provide an excellent balance of clinical service, study, and personal time. Most importantly, this is a happy and pleasant place in which to work and train. The Capital District offers a variety of cultural, family and outdoor opportunities, with a reasonable cost of living and housing.
