New York's Adirondack Park is the largest protected region in the contiguous United States.  Comprising almost six million acres of public and private land, the Adirondack Park contains more than 3,000 lakes, 30,000 miles of rivers and streams and 2,000 miles of hiking trails.

The region surrounding Albany also offers many cultural activities.  All summer long, Tanglewood, in the nearby Berkshire area, hosts a variety of musical entertainment along with other performances.

Indoors or out, the area surrounding the Capital District offers a nearly endless supply of activities and sights.  Visit the Neighboring Areas page for more information about great locations only a short distance away.
