The Massry Family Gift

The Massry Family Children's Emergency Center opened in 2018 as the region's only dedicated pediatric emergency room. Albany Medical Center sincerely thanks the Massry family for their generosity and gift to the Capital Region.

"Our gift to Albany Med is very much a gift to the whole community – to the families, pediatricians and hospitals in our region that seek the best possible emergency care for children,” said Norman Massry, on behalf of his family – his parents, wife, children and grandchildren.

He said the Massry family was drawn to this project for several reasons, including personal experience with emergency departments. “I have been to the ED numerous times over the years as a son, father and grandfather, and no matter what is done to shield children from the very sick and injured, you can’t escape the sights and sounds, so we immediately understood the need for the pediatric emergency department and certainly the logical and important connection to the region’s only children’s hospital.”
